# Downloading and Installing

Learn how to download and install the MetaMask extension.

## Downloading MetaMask on Desktop

### Step 1: Proceed to [**https://MetaMask.io**](https://MetaMask.io) and select "Download"

### Step 2: Select the platform you are installing MetaMask onto and select "Install MetaMask for..."

### Step 3: If installing to Brave or Firefox, just add the extension

### Step 4: Click on the Jigsaw piece. That is your extensions menu. Select the pin to pin the MetaMask extension to your address bar area for easy access in future.
